With the cancellation of the much anticipated bout between Manny Pacquaio and Floyd Mayweather, Jr., the world’s pound for pound king Manny Pacquiao will face Joshua Clottey on top of the ring to defend his recently won WBC Welterweight belt against Miguel Cotto.
The Pacquiao vs. Clottey fight will happen on March 13, 2010 (the original schedule of the Pacquiao vs. Mayweather, Jr. fight) at the New Cowboys Stadium in Arlington, Texas.
It’s final, one of the most anticipated match-up and what other call as the (would be) fight of the century is off, yes the Pacquiao vs. Mayweather, Jr. is out of the picture. This is despite the efforts of Team Pacquiao and Top Rank to compromise on the conditions of the Mayweather camp.
Just recently, Team Pacquiao accepted a compromise proposal of to bring the blood test closer to the fight date from his original 30 day cutoff period to 24. Mayweather camp. This and despite the mediation of retired federal judge Daniel Weinstein who spent nine hours with both parties on Tuesday, nothing was apparently achieved.
