Golden Boy Promotions CEO Richard Schaefer announced Monday that they are working on a possible match-up between Pretty Boy Floyd Mayweather, Jr. and Sugar Shane Mosley.

‘Sugar’ Shane Mosley is about to fight the Haitian-American boxer, Andre Berto for the WBA-WBC Welterweight belt unification bout which is scheduled on January 30, 2010. But due to the recent earthquake in his hometown, Berto withdrew from the fight.

Although Golden Boy Promotions had reserved the MGM Grand on March 13 for the defunct Pacquiao-Mayweather fight, Schaefer is not certain if Mosley would want the fight to be held on the said date, another date that is being considered is on May 1st.

"I think the first thing is going to be to see if a deal structure can be done, and then worry about the date," Schaefer said. "Floyd Mayweather against Shane Mosley is one of the biggest fights in the sport. They are two superstars, it would be a pick-em fight.

"The date will fall into place, but the first thing is to find a deal structure that is acceptable to everyone. That is what I’m working on."

The world’s pound-for-pound king Manny ‘Pacman’ Pacquiao was tested negative for performance enhancement drugs, this is according to the results of his drug test released by the Nevada Sports Athletic Commission (NSAC).

The results came out 9 days after the collapse of the talks for the Pacquiao-Mayweather fight.

Floyd Mayweather, Jr. likewise tested negative on dope use, Pretty Boy Floyd’s specimen was collected in Las Vegas and was sent to Arizona for testing. Meanwhile, Pacman had his specimen taken in his hometown Gen. Santos City and sent to Malaysia.

The much anticipated match-up between Floyd Jr and Pacquiao failed to reach and agreement when the negotiators failed to agree on the terms of random drug testing.

Most boxing fans blames Pretty Boy Floyd for blowing out the match-up, this includes Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) president Dana White, who has been waiting for the fight to push through.

“I think [Floyd] blew this fight,” White said in a report by 5thRound.com.

“When another fighter starts dictating a drug test, first of all, Pacquiao’s never tested positive for any drug but Floyd’s going to make him go through drug testing? That’s ridiculous,” he said.

As a result, the Pacquiao vs. Clottey was negotiated and will be held at the Cowboys Stadium in Arlington, Texas on March 13, 2010. As for Pretty Boy Floyd, Golden Boy Promotions is still looking for a possible opponent for the undefeated boxer.

Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones and Top Rank’s Bob Arum and Todd duBoef signed the deal Sunday afternoon (January 10, 2010) with $25 Million as site fee, the biggest in boxing history.

The Cowboys Stadium is the home field of the NFL team Dallas Cowboys, it also hosts hosts the annual AT&T Cotton Bowl Classic and will host the NBA All-Star Game next month, the 2011 Super Bowl and the 2014 NCAA men’s basketball Final Four.

It’s final, one of the most anticipated match-up and what other call as the (would be) fight of the century is off, yes the Pacquiao vs. Mayweather, Jr. is out of the picture. This is despite the efforts of Team Pacquiao and Top Rank to compromise on the conditions of the Mayweather camp.

Just recently, Team Pacquiao accepted a compromise proposal of to bring the blood test closer to the fight date from his original 30 day cutoff period to 24. Mayweather camp. This and despite the mediation of retired federal judge Daniel Weinstein who spent nine hours with both parties on Tuesday, nothing was apparently achieved.

Which brings me to a conclusion that Mayweather is not really serious of challenging Pacquiao, is he chickening out? Well, maybe he’s afraid of getting his first loss from the world best pound-for-pound boxer.

If you’ll ask me, there’s nothing much to gain for Pacquiao in fighting Mayweather, Jr. except silencing his bad-mouthing father.

Currently, Top Rank president Bob Arum is negotiating the Pacquiao vs. Foreman title bout, if this will push through, Manny will have the chance to get his 8th world title championship, a much better accomplishment than winning against Floyd GAYweather, Jr.!
