Pacquiao, Mayweather tested negative for drugs

The world’s pound-for-pound king Manny ‘Pacman’ Pacquiao was tested negative for performance enhancement drugs, this is according to the results of his drug test released by the Nevada Sports Athletic Commission (NSAC).

The results came out 9 days after the collapse of the talks for the Pacquiao-Mayweather fight.

Floyd Mayweather, Jr. likewise tested negative on dope use, Pretty Boy Floyd’s specimen was collected in Las Vegas and was sent to Arizona for testing. Meanwhile, Pacman had his specimen taken in his hometown Gen. Santos City and sent to Malaysia.

The much anticipated match-up between Floyd Jr and Pacquiao failed to reach and agreement when the negotiators failed to agree on the terms of random drug testing.

Most boxing fans blames Pretty Boy Floyd for blowing out the match-up, this includes Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) president Dana White, who has been waiting for the fight to push through.

“I think [Floyd] blew this fight,” White said in a report by 5thRound.com.

“When another fighter starts dictating a drug test, first of all, Pacquiao’s never tested positive for any drug but Floyd’s going to make him go through drug testing? That’s ridiculous,” he said.

As a result, the Pacquiao vs. Clottey was negotiated and will be held at the Cowboys Stadium in Arlington, Texas on March 13, 2010. As for Pretty Boy Floyd, Golden Boy Promotions is still looking for a possible opponent for the undefeated boxer.
