Hong Kong’s ‘Acid Thrower’ Strikes Again

After being silent for sometime, the infamous acid thrower once again created chaos in Temple Street of the Kowloon District of the city. At least 30 people were injured including children and tourists when a man hurled acid to the crowd.

This incident was the latest in a series of similar attacks since December 2008 injuring more than 100 people including a Filipino family enjoying their vacation in the city in June of last year.

Authorities have arrested a suspect believed to be responsible for the latest acid attack, the suspect, described as a Chinese man in his 30s, was arrested after he was found on the roof of a nearby building along with caps to the bottles believed to have been used in the attack, said a police spokeswoman.

The Hong Kong Police is currently offering a 300,000 Hong Kong dollars reward for information that would lead to the arrest of those responsible for the earlier attacks.
